Ondo ElectionMimiko's aides resign, defect to APC

Until their defection, the duo were leaders of the PDP in their respective constituencies in the State.

Two aides of the Ondo State Governor, Olusegun Mimiko, resigned from their position on Wednesday, November 2, multiple reports said.

The aides - Oladun Aderonke Morolayo, Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters, and Victor Ojo, Special Assistant to Mimiko on Mobilization, were said to have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This is coming ahead of the November 26 governorship election in the state, which has plunged the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into crisis.
It was gathered that the two were leaders of the PDP in their respective constituencies in the State.
According to SaharaReporters, the Ondo State APC spokesperson, Omo'ba Abayomi Adesanya, confirmed the defection of the duo to the party.
"Agboola Ajayi, the Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State, received both Oladun and Ojo to the party. They were received at the Akeredolu campaign office as bona fide members of All Progressives Congress family," Adesanya was quoted as saying.
He urged the new APC members to "work assiduously" in ensuring Akeredolu is elected the Ondo state governor.
