Ex-President's former wife moves to float political party
Ex-wife of former president Obasanjo has announced her decision to float a new political party.
Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo's estranged wife, Taiwo Obasanjo, has initiated her plans to float a new political party.
According to a report by The Sun, Taiwo revealed the name of the intended political party as the Abundant Blessing Congress, ABC.
On her reason for deciding to float a new political party, the ex-President's wife said her decision is a divine assignment from God.
In her words: “I have a divine assignment from God to come out with something like this. It has a divine agenda. What is the divine agenda? What is the agenda? It is to create a selfless platform for people to come together and become the custodian, part and parcel towards rebuilding this nation.
“We shouldn’t leave it to only the government of the day to run. It is going to be a kind of shadow government, that will also externalise itself in all that they want to do for the nation. The Abundant Blessing Congress will also be internalizing what they want to do and that’s what we are going to externalize in the nation. That’s why I said we shall have a shadow government, because right now, what we have doesn’t make me happy,” she said.
Taiwo advised Nigerians against blaming President Muhammadu Buhari for the nation’s woes, saying the current administration is laying a foundation for a better tomorrow.
