The ex Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives announced that the PDP has began the review of the past polls and why they lost.
He also revealed the reason why the committee was set up to proffer solutions to the party’s problems.
He said, “It just appears to all of us that Nigeria is still largely a PDP state. In every ward, local government area, state, zone and, indeed, in the entire country, the PDP remains the most popular party by our reckoning.
“What has happened to us was that we made very costly mistakes. We took steps that we shouldn’t have taken. And those steps today are beginning to haunt us. The party, in its wisdom, decided to take steps as early as May, 2015, to set up this committee and the committee can begin to review what happened in the elections.”
The PDP has been looking to build up their support from the Northern and South Western states were they lost majority of their support to the All Progressive Congress, which led to President Buhari’s victory.
